Upcoming – Full Circle Arts
Just before Christmas in 2010 I was asked to work with the wonderful folk at Full Circle Arts in Trafford, Manchester. FCA is an arts-council funded organisation led by – and for – people with disabilities. I’m hoping to get everything tied up sometime in June (there’s lots and lots of user-testing to be done) and with a bit of luck, with the wind behind me, get the site live towards the end of that month.
It’s a truly great project to work on – for so many reasons. Everything (and I do mean everything) about the site needs to be as accessible as a website can be. The target audience is people with varying disabilities – ranging from visually impaired to those with physical and mental disabilities.
The FCA folk want something which can help them get across their message as well as assist disabled artists in the North West (and beyond) get their work out there. Also, the site will be income generating – another web in an already complex arrangement.
I’ve had to do so much research with regards to learning disabilities, colour awareness, motor-skills and browser capabilities – something I fully intend to write up as I go. The basic layout has been finalised, the very complex palette has been completed and the membership system has been written.
I’ll keep this post updated with links to the other parts in this series which will outline the background and research for this project. Can’t wait to show you the finished product.
